A new Will Ferrell-themed bar called “Stay Classy New York,” opened on Lower East Side. Don’t act like you’re not impressed.
The bar, located on 174 Rivington Street, is decked out with everything Will Ferrell, from his movie posters and fan art wrapping the walls to his one-liner drink menu such as Great Odin’s Raven and Smelly Pirate Hooker.
The idea kind of came from a joke,
Brian Link, co-owner, told Fox Lifestyle. “My business partner Zach Neil and I were looking to buy a bar and we were just kind of curious about what to do as a theme and so I quoted something from a Will Ferrell movie and he just kind of said ‘You know what? Why don’t we do a Will Ferrell character themed bar?’
Ferrell himself isn’t involved with the bar but Link and Neil hopes for his visitation.
The bar is officially opening on Friday, October 23, with an Anchorman Halloween party, featuring a costume contest with prizes and drink specials. Additionally, customers dressed as any Anchorman character will get a free shot on the house. The bar plans to host Elf themed parties for the holidays.
This bar is kind of like the place where a 35- or 40-year-old person could come and sit and not be intimidated by loud techno music but still be surrounded by things that are funny and ridiculous and kinda get it,
Neil told PIX11. “That’s what Will Ferrell has always meant to us.”
